Red Carpet of Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards
„Cannes is a mecca for film enthusiasts, encompassing the world’s most important festivals for feature films and commercials. I am very proud that the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards became that big and influencing and that now also corporate films and TV documentaries receive an appropriate reward and the recognition both genre deserve.” – said Alexander V. Kammel – Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards Director
Every year, the great winners of the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards – the world’s largest festival for corporate films, documentaries, and online media productions – gather on the red carpet of the legendary Palm Beach in Cannes. The highly sophisticated gala event attracts international representatives from well-known companies and institutions, professionals from the communication and agency industries, tourism organization directors, as well as talented filmmakers who will be honored with the dolphin award.
The French resort Cannes, known as the European Capital of film, is famous for its picturesque location, natural surroundings, luxury, wealth, gambling, and nightlife. In the presence of big movie stars, the city is driven by the latest fashion trends set by the industry. Wealthy tourists visiting the city spend nonchalantly frivolous amounts of money, ensuring the prosperity of the most expensive hotels, exclusive casinos, elegant boutiques selling the world’s most famous brands, and the luxurious multi-deck yachts moored at the harbor, which resembles true works of art that one can only dream of. Some of the yachts have their helicopter landing platforms, storage for submarines and cars.
Life in Cannes concentrates around the harbor and the palm-lined promenade Boulevard de la Croisette. At the beginning of the boulevard (west coast), the famous Palais des Festivals was built in 1982 on an artificial headland separating the Vieux Port. The palace is the main culprit of the sweet snobbism ruling over the city. The aureola of the legendary names as Sophia Loren, Catherine Deneuve, or Alain Delon, had a great impact on the popularity of the city. On the promenade pavement, many world’s celebrities have left their palmprints in the Hollywood style. There are also Polish names, like Andrzej Wajda and Roman Polański. The boulevard is a magnet for luxurious cars, exquisite restaurants, and illuminated showcases of the boutiques belonging to the world’s most influential fashion designers. The neighborhood of Boulevard de la Croisette is occupied by elegant hotels and casinos, which boast a wide range of top-shelf attractions offered to their guests. They include such brands as Martinez, Majestic, Hilton, and the most famous Carlton, which every year opens its doors to Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards guests.
And the Palm Beach, which closes Boulevard de la Croisette in the southeast end, whose legend has left a permanent mark on the history of the city. Enjoying the view of Pierre Canto Port, we can stop at Pointe de la Croisette to have a closer look at Casino Palm Beach, whose fame and image is owed to whole generations of those who have helped to build it for nearly the century. ‘This is where the Palace of A Thousand and One Nights was erected,’ read the headlines of ‘Courrier de Cannes’ on April 5, 1929, when the casino was opened,’ During these years, Casino Palm Beach has hosted an innumerable crowd of World-famous people such as Marlene Dietrich, Elton John, Milla Jovovich, Dennis Hopper, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner … And the history of the casino is marked by prestigious galas, fashion shows, parties, conferences and meetings that made the building at Croisette legendary.
Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards was founded by festival director Alexander V. Kammel with elegance and a sense of what his guests expect in this famous film location. The Festival starts celebrations traditionally with the Welcome Evening at the Carlton Beach Club. This allows the quests to enjoy the Cote d’Azur through the lights of the Boulevard de la Croisette. The extraordinary atmosphere of this place is perfect for coming to Cannes and establishing contacts.
Next Morning Media Center opens, where guests can watch productions participating in the competition. The festival offers all guests also additional benefits in the form of a lecture and workshop series.
And in the evening the red carpet is rolled out at the legendary Palm Beach Cannes so that the guests can start the elegant night of the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards. The Awards Evening continues with the Welcome Champagne Cocktail on the Palm Beach terrace, where people can enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Bay of Cannes.
However, the real highlight of the evening is the Awards Gala Dinner, a festival Black tie event full of emotions and surprises. There, during the Awards Ceremony, all winners are revealed for the first time and awarded for their achievements.
The stately statuettes of gold, silver dolphins are handed over to the winners in each category while the black emphasize on the artistic value of the film. The blue one is the award for the production company of the year. The last trophy handed over is traditionally the Grand Prix Winner, receiving the already world-famous White Dolphin for the Best Film of the festival.
After the ceremony, the happy winners celebrate their success and network with their peers at the Dolphin Lounge with live music and open bar.
